Clark Ray Bass

Clark Ray Bass, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and faithful servant of the Lord passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on October 15,2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, service, and countless cherished memories. A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Central Baptist Church. The family will greet friends following the service in the church. 

Clark shared 44 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Teresa, who was his best friend and devoted companion throughout their life together. He was a loving father to his son, Clark, and daughter-in-law, Jana, but one of the greatest joys in his life was being a grandfather to Blake and Clay. He adored his grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them. Their laughter, stories, and time shared were among his greatest blessings. The love he had for Blake and Clay was unmistakable, and they will carry his love and memories with them throughout their lives.

Clark had a deep love for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He found peace and enjoyment in God’s creation and loved spending time in the woods and on the water. Whether he was hunting, fishing, or simply enjoying the outdoors with family and friends, he was the happiest in those moments. He cherished the stories, laughter, fellowship, and memories made along the way.

His faith in the Lord was at the center of his life. Clark was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church, where he loved attending and being a part of his small group class. The fellowship, friendship, and time spent together were very meaningful to him. His love for the Lord was reflected in the way he lived, the way he loved his family, and the way he served others.

Clark was the proud owner of Bass Tire Service in Desoto, Ga. He built lasting relationships throughout the community and took pride in serving others. A special mention is given to his devoted workers Brandon Miller, Nathan Fowler, and Christian Canales, whose dedication and friendship meant so much to him.

His heart for serving others extended into his community through his service with the Leslie Volunteer Fire Department, where he was honored to service as fire chief for many years. His commitment to helping others and serving his community was a reflection of the kind of man he was- dependable, selfless, and always willing to lend a hand.

Clark was preceded in death by his father, Ray Bass; his brother, James Earl Bass; and his brother-in-law, Monty Parnell.

He leaves behind his wife, Teresa Bass; his son, Clark Bass, and daughter-in-law, Jana Bass; his grandchildren, Blake and Clay Bass; his mother, Eva Jeanette Bass; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hudson and Lois Hall; his sisters Faye Walton (David) and Nancy Parnell; his brother, Heath Bass (Lee); and sister-in-law, Pam Bass.

He is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great- nephews, along with his close and dear friends, his church family, and countless members of the community who will miss him dearly.

Until we meet again, Clark will forever be loved, remembered, and missed. Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that Clark is now at home with his Lord and Savior. His earthly work is finished, but the legacy of love, faith, service, family, and friendship, that he leaves behind will continue for generations.
