Charolette Diane Exum

Diane Exum, age 83, died Wednesday, July 29, 2026, in the comfort of her home in Leslie. Mrs. Exum was born September 5, 1942, to the late Harold and Francis Milam of Fulton County GA. Diane graduated from Campbell High School and then went on to attend college at Georgia Southwestern College in Americus, where she was a cheerleader. That decision led to the introduction of her husband Charles, who played basketball there. After her marriage in 1962, Diane went on to work for Sheffield Hardware in Americus and W.N. Clark Company in Leslie. Among Diane’s passions was family genealogy, in which she researched tirelessly. Diane was also a proud member of the Council of Safety Chapter of National Society Daughter’s of the American Revolution (DAR) starting in 1979, with 11 proven patriot ancestors. She also served as the DAR regent for a time. She was also a member of the Daughter’s of Founders and Patriots of America. Another historic group, of which she was a member, was Magna Charta Dames. Diane had great love for her family and our great nation.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of  Aldridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Rev. Scott Tucker will officiate the service. Burial to follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends at  Aldridge Funeral & Cremation Services on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 5-7 p.m.

Survivors include husband of 63 years Charles Exum, two sons and daughters-in-law Charles Exum Jr. (Cindy) of Maine and Troy Exum (Becky) of Leslie, two grand children Alex Exum of Kentucky and Ryan Exum of Ellaville and Brother Dean Milam of Cumming, GA.
