Charles Reese Medlock

Mr. Charles Reese Medlock age 88 passed away at his residence in Plains Tuesday evening March 12, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday March 15, 2013 Plains United Methodist Church Rev. Lee Smith officiating burial will follow at Concord Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Grandsons Jeremy Alford, Bryan Alford, Michael Moncus, Will Moncus, Schuyler English and Bryan Joiner. Honorary Pallbearers Gavyn Maxwell, Gage Maxwell and Teressa Smith Sunday School Class. The family will be receiving friends at the family residence 1843 US Hwy. 280 West Plains, Ga. Mr. Medlock was born December 21, 1924 in Plains, Ga. the son of the late William Verlyn [Mose] Medlock and Elizabeth Grace Smith Medlock. He was retired from Estes Surgical Supply where he was a sales manager. Mr. Medlock was a Veteran of the US Navy Serving in WWII. He was an active member of the Americus American Legion Post # 2 and very active member of Plains United Methodist Church until his health failed. Mr. Medlock is survived by his beloved wife Josephine Dupree Medlock of Plains, two daughters and sons-in-law; Rena Alford and Greg, Mary Evelyn Moncus and Keith both of Plains, sister and brother-in-law; Nancy Jo Alston and Buddy of Cataula, Ga. two brothers and sisters-in-law Wade Medlock and Jodene, Pat Medlock and Patsy both of Plains, Ga. Also surviving, Six Grandchildren Courtney Maxwell, Jeremy Alford, Bryan Alford, Michael Moncus, Lindsay Joiner and husband Bryan and Will Moncus, Four Great Grandchildren Schuyler English, Gavyn Maxwell, Gage Maxwell and Dylan Joiner One Step Grandchild Alyssa Maxwell and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Medlock was preceded in death by Two Sisters Georgia Ann Medlock and Rebecca Medlock Dale and a brother Bill Medlock.
