Mr. Charles Terrell "Charlie" Gillis

Mr. Charles Terrell Gillis age 81, of Georgetown, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Southeast Health Medical Center in Dothan, AL. A private graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Rev. Joel Smith will officiate the service. Charles Terrell Gillis was born August 9, 1943 in McRae, GA. He was the son of the late Harvey Gillis and the late Josephine Lavender Gillis. Mr. Gillis was owner and operator of Freight Transit Systems, a trucking brokerage company. Charlie enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He had a great sense of humor. He served honorably in the National Guard of the United States and was Baptist by faith. Charlie is survived by his loving partner of 33 years, Glenda Dews; his three daughters, Connie O'Hearn (Randy) of Americus, GA, Jennifer Griggs (Terry) of Ochlocknee, GA, Dawn Godwin (Earl) of Plains, GA; his son, Brad Gillis of Atlanta, GA, and his brother Adger Gillis of Oklahoma City, OK.
