Carolyn Lashley Powell

Mrs. Carolyn Lashley Powell, age 81, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Shiloh Baptist Church. Rev. Hugh Harbort and Rev. Stephen Fripp, will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.

Carolyn Lashley Powell was born December 20, 1944 in Macon County to the late Merwin and Mary Lashley. She was previously employed with Underwood Trucking Company as a bookkeeper. She was a devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church, a lady who never met a stranger, and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her two sons; Rick McLemore (Sherry) of Ellaville and Phillip McLemore of Americus. She is survived by a brother, Burt Lashley (Linda) of Oglethorpe and a sister Melvie Solomon of Greensboro, NC. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Tye Powell, daughter Maria Goodman (Ken), a son, Al McLemore, her step-daughter Mary Virginia Powell Page, two brothers; James Lashley, Larry Lashley, and a sister Ruth Jones.
