Mr. Calvin Starlin

Calvin Edward Starlin, of Americus, Georgia, passed away at his home on April 2, 2020 at the age of 73. A memorial service with military honors will be held on Monday, June 22, 2020 at 11 a.m. from the graveside at Oak Grove Cemetery. Rev. Derrel Brown and Cody Zimmerman will officiate. He is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl Alexander Starlin, of Columbus, Georgia, and son-in-law of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marvin L. Horne, of Americus. Calvin was a graduate of Columbus High School where he played football, basketball, and ran track. Immediately following graduation, he attended the University of Chattanooga, where he continued to play football until he decided to serve his country by joining the military. Calvin joined the United States Army, where he obtained the rank of Sergeant and was a Special Forces Green Beret. After the Army, Calvin attended college at Georgia Southwestern State College, where he met his wife of 49 years, Ginger Starlin. While at GSW, Calvin joined and became an active member...
