Mrs. Brenda Canup Halstead, age 72, passed away at her residence, 212 Brookwood Lane in Americus, Georgia, on November 20, 2015. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 23, 2015 at at 11:00 AM in the chapel at Aldridge Funeral Services. Reverend Michael Harbuck will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Americus, GA. The family will receive friends at Aldridge Funeral Services on Sunday, November 22, 2015 in the chapel at Aldridge Funeral Services 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM and at other times 212 Brookwood Lane in Americus, GA. Mrs. Halstead was born on September 26, 1943, the daughter of Waco Canup and Vernell Pressley Canup. She was employed for many years at Textron, which was formerly located in Americus, GA. Mrs. Halstead was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Halstead is survived by a son, Billy Smith (Melody), of Americus, GA; two sisters, Betty Franklin (Robert) of California and Daisy Carroll of Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren, Joshua Smith and Caleb Smith of Americus GA.
