Mrs. Betty Lee Askew, age 81, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021 in Columbus, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 11, 2021 in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services. Rev. James Beckett will officiate. Interment will follow at the Rock Pond Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City, Georgia at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday, in the funeral home chapel. Betty Lee Brown Askew was born May 21, 1940 in Macon County, GA. She was the daughter of the late Tuck Brown and the late Edna Earl Causey Brown. She worked for the Sumter County Correctional Institute as a Control Operator until retirement. She was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church in Americus, GA and First Baptist Church in North Vernon, Indiana. Survivors include her husband Billy L. Askew of North Vernon, Indiana.
