Mr. Benjamin Mcnear Picquet Iii

Mr. Benjamin McNear Picquet III "Bennie" age 73 of Americus, passed away Thursday November 02,2023 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. A memorial service with Military Honors will be held at 12:00 pm Monday, November 6,2023 at Eastside Baptist Church. Rev. Damon Fountain and Rev. Sims Jones will officiate the service. The following gentleman are asked to serve as Honorary Pallbearers: Wayne Gosa, Dorsey McMath, George Phillips, Scott Hudson, Stan Roberts, and Sonny Pickle. Benjamin McNear Picquet III was born February 27, 1950 in Charleston, SC. He was the son of the late Benjamin McNear Picquet Jr. and the late Bertha Jackson Picquet. Mr. Picquet was a Vietnam Veteran with the United States Marine Corps. He was a truck driver for many years and later retired as a Correctional Officer with Sumter County. He enjoyed spending time with his late wife, family and grandchildren. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
