Arthur Clyde Chavers

Mr. Arthur Clyde Chavers age 93 passed away Thursday afternoon Nov. 14, 2013 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center in Americus.  Funeral services will be held from the graveside 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 Lebanon Cemetery in Plains, Ga. Rev. Don Wilson officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening Nov. 15, 2013 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.      Mr. Chavers was born March 20, 1920 in Autauga, AL. the son of the late Henry W. Chavers and Annie McCord Chavers.  He was a longtime farmer in Sumter County, served on the Sumter County Livestock Board and was a member of Plains Baptist Church where he was a deacon and a member of the Plains Lions Club.      Mr. Chavers is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Dianne Bankston [David] of Vienna, Ga. Gloria Simmons  [Mill] of Plains, Ga. Son and daughter-in-law Harold Chavers [Myra] of Plains, Ga.
