Ms. Amelia Patton Cohen

Ms. Amelia Patton Cohen age 81, of Americus, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Calvary Episcopal Church in Americus. Father Richard Nelson will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the church garden. The family will greet friends following the service at the church. Amelia Patton Cohen was born May 7, 1941 in Americus. She was the daughter of the late Jerome Louis Cohen and the late Lynn Harvey Cohen. Ms. Cohen graduated from Americus High School in 1959. She attended Wesleyan College, the University of Georgia and worked in sales. She was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church. Ms. Cohen is survived by a sister-in-law, Mildred Cohen of Americus. Her niece, Nita Parihar and husband Ravi, two nephews, David Cohen and Arthur Cohen and wife Jenny. Several great nieces, nephews and cousins, also many friends in Americus and all around the state.
