Mr. Allen Erkhart

Mr. Allen Erkhart age 70, of Americus, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023 at South East Health in Dothan, AL. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at First Baptist Church. Rev. Damon Fountain will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday at First Baptist Church from 3:00 p.m. until service time. Allen Erkhart was born November 27, 1952 in Albany, GA. He was the son of the late Almon Erkhart Sr. and the late Betsy Lee Phillips Erkhart. Allen loved his family, his fireman and especially loved children. He had a heart of gold. He worked for the Americus Fire Department for 44 years and retired as the Americus Fire Chief. He was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Joan Harris Erkhart of Americus. A daughter and son-in-law, Misty Gattis (Chris) of Americus.
